Earlier this year, my pastor, John Lindell, spoke on the “Prayer of Jabez”. During the years when my three younger children were in their teens, I was first exposed to this prayer in I Chronicles 4:10 which reads: “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory. That Your hand would be with me and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” I then read the book, “The Prayer of Jabez”, by Bruce Wilkinson, and began praying this prayer over our family daily. I firmly believe God protected us from what could have been extremely difficult years with our teens.
This past year has been very exciting and yet challenging for me. With reluctance, I yielded to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to begin a journey into the unknown – to publish a manuscript. I had been journalling over the last 12-15 years. The inspirations I received during my quiet times were now going to be available to gals, young mothers, even seasoned grannies and men, too. The uncertainties were looming over me and the expenses in surmountable to begin the process of publishing a book.
So, when hearing the message on Jabez recently, I began praying the prayer again. In no time, the Lord seemed to respond – opening doors of opportunity and financial means. It’s with expectancy that I look forward to each new day to see what He will do. He is so faithful!
